Thread Pitch   Bolt Threads (Imperial)   Bolt Threads (Metric)   Minimum Threads Lengths   Formula: For bolts up to and including 6 inches long - Twice the diameter + 1/4 inch = thread length (2D + 1/4 in.).  For bolts over 6 inches long - Twice the diameter + 1/2 inch = thread length (2D + 1/2 in.).  When bolts are too short for formula thread length, the thread will extend as close to neck as practical.  Shoulder dimensions will be furnished upon request.
